Title: Megaman 5
Author:Capcom
Rom Player: Nester
Reviewer: King Hadas

Synopsis: The Blue Bomber is back looking almost exactly the same as he did a decade ago except without his most amazing powers to slow down time, make objects blink in and out of existence and his most notable ability to make Dr. Wiley think Hard Man wasn't an extremely bad idea. Although all of mega mans stupendous powers have finally been lost to the flow of time that doesn't mean this isn't one of the better Mega Man games, in fact that is exactly why this is one of the best Mega Man games.

The very first thing I noticed when I got this game was how freakishly smooth Mega Man moved and how slick all the levels looked. I don't think my mortal tongue could ever emphasize how fantastic these graphics look compared to the franchise's four predecessors. I mean the first Mega Man, although a great game, looked barely better than an Atari game and three was so fucking glitchy I almost had a seizure from the constant blinking in Snake Man's lair. All the levels stay in perfect theme with the robot masters powers which is a real treat considering the robot masters various unique abilities (excluding Gyro man and Wave Man). The levels don't just throw in a few lava pits to keep up with the fire themed levels they kick it up a notch with new gameplay elements to try and keep the game from becoming tedious. As for any new Mega Man accessories there really isn't anything new in that department other than the secret weapon you can get once you collect all the letters in MEGAMANV, you probably already found out what the surprise weapon is but just in cause you haven't I won't spoil it for you. Other than that you got sliding, super charged power shots, and man's best friend or should I say ROBOTS best friend (HAHAAHAHA) Rush. It's all pretty basic Mega Man gameplay and you know what they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Now the plot is pretty basic, Protomans betrayed his brother and kidnapped Dr. Light and Mega Man has to save him. I swear that's what happened in the last one but the intro in this one is such an emotional roller coaster that even if they were recycling plot devices I just can't bring myself to care.

As for the music, it's pretty good, music matches up with all the levels and its doesn't annoy me but I don't really remember it well enough to give you to good of an opinion.

Overall, the gameplay is basically the same but the levels are more innovative, the graphics are amazing for the NES, the plots decent and the music is okay. A very underrated game that, altough not the best Mega Man in the series, still deserves more praise than it gets if just for it's amazing graphics.
