Synopsis: I'm giving you a fair warning here. STAY AWAY FROM 1942! This is a really bad game. I don't know any other way to say it. It's just terrible.
Story:2-
The stupid manual says this, "You and the Daring Super Ace are engaged in realistic, thrilling, and
challenging high flying battles with the enemy. You must control Super Ace over land, sea, and in the air through 32 different scenes. To win you
must reach Tokyo and destroy the remaining enemy aircraft." Guess what? I didn't know I got to Tokyo because every level looks the same. Exact same.
Gameplay:2-
Your little plane controls like it was damaged in the beginning of the game or something. All you can do is go left, right, up, down. Hitting the B button will cause you to fire your puny guns. Well, at least they kill the opposing planes with 1 hit. And A makes you do some kinda invincible flip. You start off with 3 of those.
I know what your thinking, "Why is this Bad Mr Frosty guy putting this game down so much? It's seems the odds are on your side this time." Well, you right about the odds part. But the reason I'm putting it down, is because of repetition. 32 levels of the same thing over and over again. And guess what? No ending either. All you get is a message in white saying 'Congratulation" That’s it! My high score at the end was 419,300. That only earned me an 87% average.

Eh, the graphics are nothing special. But they are better looking than 1943.

For those of you who have been reading my reviews, you know how important the soundtrack for a game is to me. It can change my entire opinion about a crappy game. But this soundtrack just lowers my view of it. It has the same song for all 32 levels. And the 1 song is terrible too. I was annoyed by it at the first level.

It was a neat idea, playing as a Super Ace. But they could've done so much more with the idea. You know like have bonus levels where you fly low to the ground and shoot civilians or something.
Overall:3
It's kinda fun the first 5 levels, but then you just get bored.
My suggestion is to just play until you get to the boss. The boss is just a gigantic plane about the size of the whole screen. After that, change the game to something like Ice Climber or Seicross.
Maybe your view on it will be different. I guess I've been spoiled on games that have a really intense storyline like Metal Gear or Metroid.
