Title: Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind
Author:Accolade
Rom Player: Zsnes
Reviewer: Bad Mr. Frosty

Synopsis: Bubsy - he's an orange bobcat with an exclamation mark on his shirt and an overconfident smirk on his face. All he's missing is pants!

In his first game (also his best, and that's not saying much), he's out to get his forest back from the Woolies, who've also sucked up every inch of yarn from the blessed place. Sort of a ic, distinctly American precursor to Shrek, if you think about it.

First of all, I must talk about the graphics, they are truly shocking for a SNES game. It's like playing though a cartoon! But alas, good graphics come at a hard price; really crappy controls. You can get used to them, it just may take 67 days.

Game Play:3
Like I said, the controls take a lot of practice to master. B & A make him leap into the air. And Y & X make him leap and then glide, which you can control thank God. L, R, Up, and Down all give you different views of your surrounding area. Which is good for spotting enemies before they spot you.

When it comes to killing the enemies, Bubsy does it 'Mario Style'. Just a simple jump on the noggin and they are toast. After he rebounds off of them he moves around in a way that looks like he was in a catfight or something. Very amusing.

Graphics:9
The best part of this game! Something’s moving on the screen at all times! And if you let Bubsy stand still for a while, he gets bored and taps on the screen to see if you’re still alive. Again very amusing. It's funny how Accolade can design a game like this, and then go and make a game like Ballz for Genesis, which was a very fun game too. Much better than Bubsy.

Music:5
The music consists of nothing but happy go lucky tunes. While I don't mind them in the beginning of the game, they start to grow on my butt after a while.

Originality:7
It's really just another side-scroller game. Nothing too special. Well the graphics make it stand out a bit. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's more fun to watch then to play yourself.

Overall:5
It wouldn't have been so bad if the game wasn't so looonng. Too drawn out. BaSEEEKK!!
