Synopsis: Dirty Harry was one tough fellow. He always stared down his nemesis and uttered those famous words "go ahead, make my day". That's how this game starts, and the sound byte is actually way above par for a game made in 1990. Unfortunately, this sound byte makes the gamers crap their pants in excitement for a good game, but doesn't follow up. The music is so nauseating that I wanted to stop playing the second it started. This game starts in a run down city with about 3 guys waiting to beat you up. For some reason unbeknownst to me, one guy jumps through an already broken window and walks off screen. Nothing strikes fear in your heart when that happens, eh? Well, you move a little bit right and this enemy throws flame-throwers at you. Yes, that’s right, he THROWS them at you. He doesn’t hold them in his hand and make you erupt in flames. Hey, wait a second – where is the statistics for health and lives? Oh, that’s right, they didn’t put them on the active screen, instead they actually make you pause the game to check. Can you believe the nerve of these people? Right off the bat I can tell the AI is going to be great in this game, even though they can’t quite decipher how to hit me when I use the “lean over” technique. It took me a while to figure out that you have to press A + B at the EXACT same moment just to jump. You can’t hold A and then press B, oh no sir. I think that is just sad, and sometimes you need to jump but you start punching people instead. Way to be, development team. Let’s not forget the great ways Dirty Harry handles being shot in the back. All he does is flinch; he doesn’t even fall to the ground. I’m pretty sure even Dirty Harry couldn’t take ten bullets to the back and not fall down. This is probably a lack of effort from the developers. Another thing that has been plaguing my mind to the ends that I can’t even sleep at night without thinking about it. What the HELL is the point of this game? All it seems to be is a never-ending circle so that you always end up at the beginning with that guy jumping out of the window and walking off the screen. So with the redundancy of this poor game, I’d let them throw a net over me and beat me senseless with a bat.
