Title: Romance of the 3 Kingdoms II
Author:KOEI
Rom Player: ZSNES
Reviewer: Nothing Entered

Synopsis: OK, here we go. 2000 years ago, China had gone pretty much all to hell, with civil war, famine, rebellion, and about 30 people claiming the right of the failing throne. But who really gives a rat’s ass, its only China. The only things to come out of China are chinkinese and communism and I can’t eat, drink, or make secks with either one. So basically in this game you can control one of 16 generals and your task is to unify the 40-something warring provinces that comprise the 3 kingdoms: Wu, Chimichanga, whatever. This game was pretty involved for its time and can still be compared to Kessen today. From multiple menus you must distribute gold, food, etc. to promote your economy, give your army commands, hire and train soldiers, and find new generals. You can also do such things as set up a province to be ruled by the AI so you can turn your attention elsewhere, forge false orders and letters to promote disarray amongst the enemy, try to make an enemy general rebel, or set up royal marriages. One of the other great parts of the game is, during battle, enemy generals will frequently duel each other. This is one of the most entertaining parts of the game. If you have played Kessen, you probably have a good idea of what this looks like. Many players may recognize the characters from this game out of the Dynasty Warriors series, or Kessen, or Luo Guanzhongs novel of the same name (Rot3K). If you like this game, do a little research, read the novel, it’s worth it.
