Title: WCW World Championship Wrestling
Author:FCI
Rom Player: RockNESx

Synopsis: This was a classic Pro-Wrestling game. One of the best on the old 8-bit NES. Old school wrestling fans will find plenty of their favorite wrestlers, such as Ric Flair and Eddie Gilbert. Even if you weren't a fan of WCW, the wrestling organization, you still found plenty to love about this one, such as when you would throw your opponent out of the ring, a wrench would sometimes pop up for you to hit your opponent with and you had twenty seconds to get back in the ring; double that of WWF games. Moves were simple to execute, often requiring merely one or two buttons. You could choose a five-minute single match or a ten-minute tag team match. You could play a one or two player game. The graphics were standard 8-bit fare for the day. This game’s animations were pretty funny. For instance, when a guy got hit, his hair would stand on end. The music was acceptable. Nothing special, although you would hear a voice say "World Championship Wrestling!" at the title screen, counting the pin or call out "Rope!" if you were pinned too close to the rope. And your wrestler would yell "YEAH!" if you won your match and the crowd would cheer. Voice effects were a rarity in games those days. You didn't even hear any of the wrestler's themes, which kind of sucked, but all in all I'd say if you still have an NES, buy this one at Funcoland. For 50 cents to a buck you really can't go wrong here.
