Synopsis: If any of you happened to own a Super Nintendo and this piece of shit excuse for a game, read no further as I am sure it will bring about painful memories. For anybody who has never played, seen, or heard of Rise of the Robots, well, turn back before it is too late.
For anybody still with me, on to the review. Rise of the Robots, like so many other games, looked promising in the screenshots and previews. Unlike said other games, however, Rise of the Robots turned out to be one of the biggest pieces of crap the gaming industry has ever produced. In fact, if you really hate somebody, give them this game for the holidays and watch with glee as they thrash about while their soul is ripped painfully from their anus and feasted upon in a bloody, violent orgy. Acclaim should burn in Hell for trying to pawn this load of horse shit off on the public, along with their many other sins, including sodomy and genocide.
In RotR you play a cyborg in a future full of robots that have been infected by a virus. Of course, what does anybody do when they get a virus? They beat the shit out of each other. So that’s what you do, and that’s the entire story. Believe it or not, this game gets worse.
Game play is the worst I have EVER seen in a video game. Control is horrible, there is a very noticeable delay between the time you press a button and your fighter actually reacts. There is little variation in your fighting, you can generally beat the game by simply high-kicking over and over again, and blocking is absolutely not an option.
The music sucks too, it is some kind of weird ass blend of rock and techno. The only sound effects you will hear is the same repetitious clang of metal-on-metal contact. This game has absolute shit in this category.
The only place this game even glitters is its graphics. The graphics was the selling point of this game; Acclaim knew this and put out nothing but screenshots. They had us all fooled.
There is no denying Rise of the Robots was horrible, I can't even write about it without getting pissed that I actually bought this game as a kid. If you read my review, please, stay as far away from this filthy WHORE as you possibly can.
Best Cheats: WHO CARES? NOTHING CAN MAKE THIS GAME PLAYABLE. >:(
