Title: Kangaroo
Author:Atari
Rom Player: Stella
Reviewer: Randy Johnson
Synopsis: You can tell by playing Kangaroo that it was inspired by Donkey Kong. Kangaroo for the Atari 5200 has four screens. On three of the screens, your goal is to make it to the top of the screen and save a baby kangaroo. On the other screen, your goal is to knock down a group of monkeys that are standing on top of each other while holding the baby kangaroo. You punch each monkey until the monkey who is holding the baby is at the bottom of the screen. When you punch all of the monkeys, you hop on the platform that the baby kangaroo is on. (This screen had to be inspired by Donkey Kong's rivet screen). Kangaroo is extremely similar to Donkey Kong. On the arcade version, a halo even appears over your kangaroo's head when you die. Just like on Donkey Kong. But on the 5200 version, you fall off the screen instead of earning a halo. I'm pretty certain that Donkey Kong was never made for the Atari 5200, but fans of Donkey Kong who collect Atari 5200 games need not be disappointed. Just buy kangaroo. It's very similar to DK and it's fun. You can find Kangaroo and other 5200 games on EBAY.
