Synopsis: This was one of the five US games that I bought years ago at Revco for $5.50.
In Commando Raid, you control a gun that sits in the middle of the screen and at the bottom. You must protect several buildings from paratroopers, who are dropped by helicopters. You must shoot the paratroopers and the helicopters. When the paratroopers hit the buildings, they take chunks out of them. When a building gets too badly damaged, a paratrooper will make his way under the building and under your gun and detonate a bomb. If this happens, the game is over.
I would suggest that people play this on the easier skill level. Every so often on the harder skill level, jets fly over your buildings. You must shoot them or the bombs they drop. If you fail to shoot a bomb after it's dropped, it will blow you up and the game is over. There are no jets on the easier skill level.
When you earn a certain amount of points, one of your buildings gets repaired. This was one of US Games’ better titles. Space Jockey was another good US Game. If you collect old Atari 2600 games, you might want this one. It's fun. You can find this game and other Atari games on EBAY.
