Title: Doom
Author:Id
Rom Player: ZSNES
Reviewer: Randy Johnson

Synopsis: Doom is one of my favorite games, and it was the best SNES game made, but it wasn't as good as the other Doom versions.
The SNES Doom was impressive because it had 22 levels and the music. The 32X version only had sixteen levels.
In Doom, you are on Mars and you shoot zombies and Demons from hell. You must shoot Imps, Cacodemons, Barons of hell, Shotgun men (Editor’s note: “shotgun men” were actually named Sergeants), etc.
You get different weapons. You begin with a pistol. You can also find the shotgun, the chaingun, the rocket launcher, etc.
You also have to find keys to unlock certain doors. You can heal yourself with medic packs. You can also survive more damage when you collect armor.
Now let's talk about what sucked about this Doom game: It has bad controls. You move too slowly. The graphics aren't as smooth or as impressive as the 32X and Jaguar versions. Also, you can only play one episode at a time and it only lets you play episode 2 and 3 on harder skill levels.
My brother bought this game and paid fifty bucks for it. I waited until a couple of years ago and bought it at Roses for twenty bucks.
Do me a favor: If you want to buy Doom, get it for the Playstation if you have one. The PS Doom was a lot better than the SNES version. It even included Doom II. If you don't have a Playstation, I think they now cost only fifty bucks.
Doom is the best SNES game, but it's also the worst version of Doom that was made. It's nothing to brag about.
