Title: Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition
Author:Blue Sky Software
Rom Player: Gens
Reviewer: Rammstein_1987

Synopsis: For years, people have been creating countless games for countless systems for the movie Jurassic Park (everyone's probably seen it, so I won't go into the story). Some games were better than others, but my personal favorite was Jurassic Park: Rampage (I'll just call it J.P.R) (Editor’s note: The game is actually called Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition) I remember when I was a little kid, me and my older bro used to rent games at the local video store almost every weekend. Sometimes, we would rent our personal favorites more then once, and J.P.R was no exception. I didn't care for its prequel, (which I did own at the time) but the sequel won my respect. The coolest part of all was that you could be Dr. Grant or the Raptor, but for Grant, you could also fight other humans, and not just the dinos.
Also, the graphics and gameplay were improved in JPR. The prequel was very slow paced, but in this one, you felt like the character you chose really meant business. Although the game didn't have any connections to the movie, this had to be 8 or 9 years ago, when games usually had simple storylines, so who gives a crap?
The weapons didn’t change much from the prequel, however, but were made 10 times more fun. When Grant uses a flamethrower on a guy, he's cremation soup, or the shock gun turns him into a skeleton. Nobody can complain about that.
Although the levels were not the same as the scenes in the movie, their backgrounds were comparable to the movie, which deserves a point. Also, some of the tunes were cool, like you were watching the actual movie.
So, in conclusion, J.P.R is a classic Genesis game of mine and will be for a long time to come. If you ever bump into the game, try it. Maybe you will like it too.
