Title: Streets of Rage

Synopsis: This one was Sega's answer to Final Fight. The story: A gangster by the name of Mr. X ( Who bears a strange resemblance to pro-wrestler Jake "The Snake" Roberts) has taken over the city. Gangs roam the streets doing as they so pleased. Until three former cops, Adam, Axle, and Blaze decided to step up to the plate and put a stop to all this. The game played much like Final Fight where you walked through town fighting gangs of thugs by using weapons or doing special moves on them. At the last stage, you're given a choice just before fighting Mr. X to join him. If you accept, you'll be sent back to the stage before to do all over again so tell him where he can put his offer.
Graphics- The graphics were some of the best for the time, though not as detailed as SOR2, they were good in their own right. They hadn't pushed the envelope for the time, but were distinctive of a Sega Genesis game.
Sound- The music definitely fit the urban hip-hop environment and was some of the best in a game. Voices were the usual grunts, groans, and yells. Sounds such as slams and slashes rounded out the auditory portion of this game.
Overall this is a classic game worthy of a place in any Genesis owner's collection. Not a bad buy. Or download it off an emulation site. Either way it's a great game. If you liked Double Dragon or Final Fight, you'll like this one too.
