Title: Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (5th Review)
Author:Konami
Rom Player: NESticle
Reviewer: pickleninja

Synopsis: This game isn't what it seems. First thing you'll notice is that there are only a few resemblances to the first Castlevania. Many people didn't like that and began to question the game itself. But that doesn't mean it’s bad. The graphics are much better than the first Castlevania. And the sound is really good. The main track 'Bloody Tears' is many a Castlevania fans' favorite.
Not to mention it’s more story-orientated too. Before Dracula was slain, he laid a curse on Simon Belmont: One that will kill him! But there is hope, as a priest tells Simon that he'll need to collect Dracula's Body Parts to reverse the curse. The story is why its very original, but the gameplay keeps it far from a perfectly original game.
All told, Simon's Quest isn't perfect but it isn't bad either. So if you're at a game store with old NES games, it wouldn't be bad to pick it up. But if you've never played Castlevania, don't pick it up. Try the first one. It'll give you the real idea about Castlevania.
