Title: Akumajou Densetsu
Author:Konami
Rom Player: Nesten
Reviewer: Shane Skekel
Synopsis: Yes, I know that this is Castlevania 3, but this version is a whole lot better. First, there's the graphics: they look like the American version's graphics, but there's a glowing cross in the introduction sequence. Therefore, it looks better than the other versions. Game play wise, it's the same with the inability to control jumps in mid-air, but there's always .ASM hacking. Like the American version, there are the long levels, of which there are plenty of, I might add. You have the same four characters, but Trevor is referred to as Ralph in this version. The game's biggest strength is the music since it uses a special mapper chip to digitize drum beats and other instruments. If you want something nostalgic, but don't know where to look, then Akumajou Densetsu is the game for you. Those who already have Dracula's Curse might not have the guts to download this version, but this is still the great game you may remember when you had an NES, which I still do. The reason I got the Super NES, N64, Game Boy, Virtual Boy, GB color, GBA, and the Game Cube is because of great games like this one. Speaking of CV, try both versions of Symphony of the Night because: 1. It is the other GREAT RPG on the PS other than RPG Maker, even though I haven't played SotN myself. 2. SotN is also available for the Saturn, in case you're an idiot.
Best Cheats: All those cheats in Dracula's Curse won't work in this game, but when you pick Grant, he starts off with the throwing knife which I forgot to mention.
