Title: Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge
Author:Nintendo
Rom Player: ZSNES
Reviewer: Sweebish

Synopsis: First off this is a Super Scope game, probably the best Super Scope game that was made, which isn't saying much. But I also hold this game as one of the best games for the SNES. It went largely unnoticed because to play it you needed the large, bulky, and expensive Super Scope. I have not yet located an Emulator which is able to properly play this game.

In the not so distant future the earth has been invaded, and subsequently taken over. The aliens have selected certain humans to serve as "Chiefs” and rule over regions of the earth. Each Chief has a completely UNIQUE ST or Standing Tank. You play the gunner for the ST Falcon, the pilot of which is trying to get to the root of the alien infestation and destroy them.

This game plays almost like an RPG in that it has well defined characters, you get items to use in combat, and it has a well thought out story despite how hokey it sounds when I describe it.

The combat is great. You shoot an on screen ST, and as you damage it, it will not only show signs of damage but you can blow off parts of the ST and SEVERELY hinder its ability to fight.

They game also employs a great set of training missions which you must complete before actually playing the game. After playing through the game once you get the option to use a second ST, The Tornado, using this St changes gameplay dramatically. It can rapidly fire shots which do heavy damage, but also takes more damage when hit.

This game has incredible depth and replay value. And one of the best features is that it has multiple two-player modes. Time Trials where you swap the scope back and forth, and a vs. battle where player 2 controls the on screen ST with the controller.

This game is actually a sequel to Battle Clash, another SS game that was well made and better than anything else for the SS at the time, but was not on par with the best games for the SNES.

Best Cheats: You get these cheats by beating the game on various dufficulties and with the different STs.
All these are to be entered on controller two at the title screen.
L,A,B,L: (Label) lets you set the name the game uses to refer to you.
B,A,B,Y: (Baby) This is for those of you who cant beat this game. It allows you to use the Second ST, Tornado.
B.A,L,L: (Ball) Puts the game into "Real Mode" where can choose difficulty level.
L,R,L,R: (?) Erases the games memory. The cartridge used battery backup to keep track of ranking, high scores and fastest times.
