Synopsis: A year after the first tournament, Shao Kahn grants the fallen sorcerer Shang Tsung another life, and another chance. This time, with a new plan in mind: the domination of Earth and Outworld in the guise of a simple tournament. Kahn Invites 11 fighters to a match they wouldn't forget.
This is an awesome game. This is the one that sparked all the controversy, not MK1. With ridiculous amounts of gore,2 provocative female characters (a new record for Midway then), and an extremely darker storyline than any other game got the older people's groups pissed out of their little minds.
They upped the ante with this classic 1993 release. with Stage finishers, 8 new fighters, harder bosses, and 4 hidden fighters. This game will be imprinted on every arcade rat's brain forever.
I remembered when I first played this at a flea market arcade with a 27" screen. The character I always played with was Kung Lao. His moves were sweet and easy, his fatalities are brutal, and he's the only character I can beat the game with. My favorite stage was the Pit II, for having a small video of them falling down the pit and hitting the concrete. SPLAT!
I could never beat Jade, Smoke, or Noob Saibot, (what a stupid plug for the creators.). They were TOO damn hard.
This is a MUST HAVE for any M.A.M.E. collector.
Best Cheats: Musical Loop: In "Attract Mode" After the "Now the Kombat Kontinues..." screen, during the character video, press a direction. The high scores should appear. and there should be a musical loop.
