Synopsis: This is a great game but the only reason I bought it was so I could connect it to my Sonic and Knuckles game.
The first seven worlds only have two zones each. World eight has three zones. After you complete world eight, you must complete three final zones.
The Worlds are called:Emerald Hill, Chemical Plant, Aquatic Ruin, Casino Night, Hill Top, Mystic Cave, Oil Ocean and Metropolis. The three final zones are called:Sky chase, Wing Fortress, and Death Egg. On Death Egg you fight a metal replica of Sonic.
You kill enemies by jumping on top of them. You also collect rings. If you collect one hundred rings, you get an extra life. If you take a hit from an enemy, you will lose all of your rings. Grab as many rings as you can before they disappear from the screen. If you have at least one ring, you won't die when you take a hit from an enemy.
Sometimes stars will appear when you touch lamp posts. Jump in the air at the lamp posts and you'll be taken to bonus stages. It's at these bonus stages where you collect the Chaos Emeralds.
If you finish a level with a certain amount of rings, you earn a continue.
If you own a Sega Genesis and like Super Mario Bros. type games, get STH2. It's a little better than the original. I give it an eight.
Best Cheats: Level Select:
Use the sound test selection on the options menu. Choose sounds 19, 65, 9, and 17(in that order)and press C after each selection. A chime will confirm correct code entry. Press Start. Hold A and press Start at the title screen.
