What is someone supposed to do, when they're not capable of doing the thing they were destined to do?

Like, let's say you were meant to be a singer. Your life was meant to revolve around singing. You wanted nothing more - you COULDN'T do anything more - than sing. But you have no vocal chords. What do you do?
