How'd it go down?

Long story, I just walked 16 miles today (don't ask), i was carrying 4 heavy bags, there was nobody around, i was a sitting duck. I struggled with the guy a little bit, but gave in. He only got off with like $25, and he left my wallet with my identification, so I guess it's not too bad.....

I got 'mugged' just yesterday :(

I was in a Pizza Parlor with some friends, and I went to check out the retro arcade they had in the back.

This 40-ish black guy approaches me and says "Are you good with Black People?"

I'm like, "Um, yes. Sure. I respect Blacks."

He says, "I live on the street. I'm homeless. I have no food and no money. Can you help a brother out? I'll go right up to the counter and buy a grinder, then we come back and play some video games."

I'm starting to freak out, so I give him $6 and tell him I'm about to leave with my friends.

He says, "Oh, I just remembered that I'm barred from this restaurant. Tell ya what, I'll go across the street and get something at the steakhouse. Then we'll play some video games. God bless you, kid."

As soon as he said this, I realized these three points that made hist story worth dick:
1. There was no steakhouse across the street.
2. If he was barred from the restaurant, what the fuck was he doing in there?
3. What can you get for $6 at a steakhouse?

So essentially I got mugged.

Kevin, I'm sorry to hear that though.

You didn't get mugged, Robo. You got conned. Conned by a homeless, dirty blackman.

Retard.

Kevin, in your mugging was there any violence involved...or potential for violence. Or was this guy being casual just harrasing you for money? Cuz he sounds like an alright guy :)

Why are black people scared of dogs? And on a related note, some dogs hate black people and bark at them.

If he took the wallet I would've persued him. He didn't need my license. If I struggled any more it wqould've gotten mighty violent, he wasn't a nice dude.

Did you report it to the cops?

If he only got $25, I don't know if it would have even been worth it :(

One of my friends was mugged and stabbed for something like $20 or so one time. That sucked.

I am sorry to hear that you got mugged Kevin, but the important thing is that you are okay!!

KevinTheOmnivore
Mar 10th, 2003, 12:09 AM
Yeah, I realize that too. It was just $25, not worth getting stabbed or worse. :/

WELL A HOMELESS OLD BLACK MAN WOULDN'T HAVE MUCH TO LOSE IF HE PULLED AND USED A WEAPON ON AN UNARMED WHITE BOY, NOW WOULD HE NOOB?

What should I have done? Should I have said "No, I'm not good with black people. Go fuck yourself you dirty ******."

And then get killed?

And there's a slight possibility he could have used the money for food.

But still :(

I guess I'm not street smart :(
I should stay in my sheltered little Grosse Pointe, away from it all.

Damn that sucks. I've been mugged before too - and it was a bad scene - and unfortunately I was carrying a lot of money at the time, something like 120 bux.

I avoid carrying large amounts of cash because of all the homeless bums, panhandlers and Natives in Winnipeg.

Yes that sounds like a racist thing to say, but you try walking around Downtown at night with them staring at you. :(

I just remembered one time during gym class in high school. During class, someone broke into my gym locker and stole my wallet. And the shitty thing is, I had a lot of cash with my for some weird reason -- like $80.

Months later, some woman called and said she found my wallet in her son's room. She said her son found my wallet and didn't tell anyone -- obviously, all the cash was gone. I really, really wanted to scream at her, because obviously her asswipe kid took my wallet and kept it for no reason. Nobody keeps a wallet they find for months. But I didn't, because I was glad to just get my social security card and ID's back. In retrospect, I really wish I acted really relieved, and then asked for her name, and then say "Ah ha! I'm filing charges, bitch!"

She obviously didn't want me to know who she was, because instead of giving it to me, she left it between the screen door and front door of my house. And I was fucking home at the time, so there was really no excuse.

Shit. I completely forgot about that. And now after remembering it, I'm really pissed off. God dammit >:

HUGH CHARMICHAEL HAS A GOOD STORY ABOUT BEING MUGGED :(

Some guy went up to him demanding his wallet and he just said "You're not getting my wallet!" talking to him like he was an idiot and the guy was like "give it to me now!" and Bryan (HUGH) was all like "NO >:" and the guy just left him alone because he called his bluff :lol

Jeez Robo, you could have at least told that poor suffering man that you'd pray for him. How rude that you didn't.

Robo, you're a little bitch. Homeless people ask me for money practically every day and I decide whether I give it to them or tell them a plain "no." You didn't even get conned, really.

Most homeless people I meet are around the train station, and some of them get creative in their "gimme money" stories. They tell tragic stories about their life, explain in colorful detail how they survive on the streets, and this one guy showed me his infected leg.

Les Waste
Mar 10th, 2003, 06:09 AM
Did you give anything to the guy with the infected leg? I wouldn't have. It's not like he was going to chase you down if you didn't give him anything. :/

I didn't give him anything, because I was already pissed off that day and I felt like I'd be a sucker if I paid him for showing off his leg.

I hope he's not dead now :(

one guy showed me his infected leg.

I read 'shoved me his infected leg'. Which would be funnier for me, if something of the sort hadn't happened. This guy on the train was asking for money because of his rotting, chopped off arm. whn he saw he wasn't getting much, he started pushing it on people. I was one of the luckies to get it full on the shirt. That makes for a nice evening.

Oh, and once a guy asked for my money in the city, and he had his hand inside his jacket pocket, making a pointy hand gesture. He wanted me to assume it was a knife, a gun, something. I told him "that's your hand in there. I'm not scared. I'm not giving you anything." and he refused to take it out and show his 'weapon' at me. So I walked away.

But he looked really non-threatening, so I don't suppose I would turn my back at a really thuggish mugger.

One time, in 9th grade, we went on a field trip. The first part of the trip was to visit this old cathedral. Some old homeless guys were on the front steps looking for money.

Long story short, me and a bunch of girls watched from the safety of the inside, as my friends paid the homeless people to dance.

This is nothing to do with mugging.

I was having a smoke break outside one of the buildings on campus and this rasta dude asked me for a cigarette. Then, we started into this discussion about smoking and health which then led into a discussion about Cher (?) and homeopathic medicine after which he asked for a couple of bucks to buy some new herbs (don't even ask :) ) he had heard about. I figured it was worth it for the entertainment value alone (I had a break between classes) so I gave it to him. :)
