I bought this game for 25 dollars from EB Games, because I'm a sucker and I was desperate to find it. I realize that this is totally retarded since I'm fairly certain it's on the Greatest Hits list, which means if they still sold it new it would be $20 or less. But anyway, I brought it home and played it, and the fucking cinematics and talking parts wouldn't work. They'd freeze up randomly while the characters were talking, and the only way you could continue playing the game is if you mashed the start button to skip them before they started talking. I was able to finish the game, but I had no idea what was going on in the story. After I beat it I took it back to EB and exchanged it for a 20 dollar copy of Silent Hill 3 and 5 dollars back. Fuck you, EB.

Anyway, I found SH1 at GameCrazy for 10 dollars and it works perfectly and I'm playing through it again on normal difficulty, and this game is actually much better than I thought it would be. :( It's probably my favorite Silent Hill so far, but the second one ranks really close to it.

Agreed. Am I the only one who thought that the fourth one was a huge dissapointment? :/

Yeah, the fourth one tried harder to be weird than scary, what really sucks about the fourth one is that whole first person room thing could've been done alot better.

Did anyone ever notice that Silent Hill is apparently in Illinois? :x You can find Illinois interstate signs on some streets in 2 and 3 and you can find Chicago News newspapers hung up in some classrooms in 1.

Actually, although you raised up some good points, the creaters of the game had intended Silent Hill as a fictional town in the US.

I know it's not real, genius. I'm just saying it's supposed to be in Illinois.
