Gotta love it when companies take their shit too seriously. I'm not even really responsible for this one since I didn't make the rom hack... but I now have been told by "the streetz" lawyers that I have until October 10th to remove it from the site entirely.
The rom hack they want removed (http://www.i-mockery.com/romhacks/sesamestreet/default.php)

Since the rom hack contains the original rom, you legally do have to remove that, but the review itself you can tell them to fuck themselves on. You can also just put up the patch for that hack and let people modify their copy of that game themselves.

Not only is the rom hack the problem, but the pictures are too. You'll probably have to take the whole thing down. Just surprised it's happening now.

I thought everyone on Seasame Street was happy and helpful. Nobody told me mean people lived there. Why do the mean people hate Mr. Barr and his colleagues? Why?

I thought legal action could only be pursued if you were making money off of it.

whether he is making money off of it or not is one thing, but public display of intellectual property is another. of course, I think that there's an exception if material is obviously satirical.
edit-a tidbit about fair use

2. Parody
A parody is a work that ridicules another, usually well-known work, by imitating it in a comic way. Judges understand that by its nature, parody demands some taking from the original work being parodied. Unlike other forms of fair use, a fairly extensive use of the original work is permitted in a parody in order to "conjure up" the original.
of course, since you're actually not responsible for the rom hack, I don't know if that applies. a rom hack review might count as parody.
the lesson I think we should all learn here is, Sesame Street is full of fags, men who live in garbage cans, and gluttons. don't take shit from THEM.

I've now posted the letter and a few comments about it in my Blog. If any of you have any contacts in the media or anything, please see that they are made aware of this. Humor sites shouldn't have to deal with businesses who take themselves far too seriously and have nothing better to do than flex their grouchy-lawyer-muscles.

Lets take a step back for a second here. Sesame Street. Sesame Street. This isn't about taking anything 'too seriously', this is about trying to keep something as pure and decent as they possibly can. It's a kids show and a damn good one at that. I grew up with it and I'm sure a lot of you did too. What did they do to deserve this? Honestly, what good comes from this rom hack? It's sick, it's perverted, and really the only way to get humor out of it is if you write a ridiculous article about it, but in doing so you're only putting it out in the open where even more people can see it. Especially on a popular website like this one that little kids probably frequent even though they shouldn't. I'm not saying you're in the wrong, Rog, and I'm not even saying you should take it down. I'm only saying you should sit back and chill for a second before you try to make this out into some sort of little guy VS. the big evil corporation kind of thing.

FUCK YEAH! You need to save it in your Favorites, but make sure it's saved as offline. Or something, I'm not sure. Well, it'll atleast work when you're offline. XD
But seriously, I suggest you stick it to them. IF THOSE FUCKING BASTARDS TRY TO FUCKING SCREW WITH THAT ROM HACK, I WILL DEVOTE MY LIFE TO MAKING THEIR LIVES HARDER!!!!!! >:
I hope this gets into the news. Keep on being a rebel, RoG! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/Blaber66/TRakon16_97.jpg

Yeah Rog, stick it to those motherfuckers, so what if they try to take your site down and sue you, will all remember how you stood up to the man (Sesame Street) and told him you weren't gonna take it anymore.
