I firmly believe that I elect my playoff teams with too much emotion. :(

DeShaun Jackson needs to SHUT THE "F" UP! >:

Yeah smack talk to a team that beat you before you play them again usually = a withdraw from the karma bank that leaves your karma account overdrawn.

Speaking of motivating the Cowboys needlessly...

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Eagles-employee-spits-on-Dallas-star-?urn=nfl,212247

Sorry Colonel, I am calling it now, Cowboys by 28. They are going to be motivated and angry and they will be hitting like mack trucks.

Colonel Flagg
Jan 7th, 2010, 09:10 PM
Don't be sorry. I feel the same way.

Well, maybe not exactly the same way. :explode

I should of never have gotten my hopes up for the bungles.

Colonel Flagg
Jan 9th, 2010, 09:32 PM
The Eagles actually scored some points, but Dallas has scored more. Much more.

Back for the second half in just a moment. :(

Colonel Flagg
Jan 9th, 2010, 10:31 PM
Down by 27 with 20 minutes to play.

They can still pull it out ... :kool-aid

Pentegarn

You not in jail Babs? Post those pics man :P

Also, I was off on my call by 8 score wise, but thus far I am 2 for 2

Wow, Packers are really eating it :( I was not expecting that.

Pentegarn
Jan 10th, 2010, 06:32 PM
Neither was I. The Cardinals are not good at rolling over and dying when they should it seems :P

If this game stays as it is going, I will be 2 for 4 sadly. Worse I picked the Packers to get to the Super Bowl (they were riding a hot enough streak to get there after all)

Pentegarn
Jan 10th, 2010, 07:37 PM
What a wild game this has become. All offense and no defense whatsoever.

Kitsa
Jan 10th, 2010, 07:40 PM
Has gotten bizarre. I'm hoping to stave off labor until after OT because I'm pretty sure I'd be asked to wait.

Pentegarn
Jan 10th, 2010, 07:44 PM
Yeah, or at least if you go into labor ask for a delivery room with Fox network on the tube :lol

I still have vivid memories from the morning of 9/11, watching the physicians of my ER working on a heart attack, and everyone was watching the little TV in the trauma room where he was...including the patient.

Kitsa
Jan 10th, 2010, 08:01 PM
Wow. That game was fucked.

Colonel Flagg
Jan 10th, 2010, 08:32 PM
At least one of my teams won - the team playing the Packers. :) Is 96 combined points some kind of playoff record?

EDIT: Highest combined score in NFL Postseason history.

I was 2-4 as well, but at least both of my losers would have lost in the next round. :) Go Vikes! :)

Does anyone believe that the Vikings have a chance against Dallas? Judging from the local and national media it seems that Dallas is going to steamroll right through the Vikes.

MattJack
Jan 13th, 2010, 04:29 PM
I think Romo will choke. I'm going for the Vikes for sure. Don't let Romo fool you, he's a choke artist.

Colonel Flagg
Jan 13th, 2010, 04:42 PM
They looked like world-beaters against the Eagles, so naturally against a good team they'll choke. :) Plus they have to play in Minneapolis. :chatter

Pentegarn
Jan 13th, 2010, 10:32 PM
I expect the Cowboys to win that one. I want to see New Orleans go to the Super Bowl and win it though because I am a huge Drew Brees fan and have been since his Purdue days

I'm confused. Brooking complains that the game was out of reach and the Vikes should've just gave up. Well then why were the Boys going for it on 4th when the game was out of reach? Was it running up the score? Yeah, but I have no problem with it.

Afterwards Childress was saying how all week the players were getting pissed at all the "Dallas Cowboys are leet haxors" talk around the country and that no one gave the Vikings any chance to win, so naturally they made to push Dallas' shit back in.

Also the Cowboys kept calling timeouts when the game was long decided and I sure didn't see the Cowboys let off the Eagles last week so Brooking needs to change out his tampon and stop crying like a little bitch.

Ultimately, I agree. These are pro athletes, if you don't like getting scored on (while getting paid no less) then whine less and defense more IMO

An acquaintance of mine who was a high school track star died in a similar way during the first freshman week of college. They found him dead in his dorm room of an undiagnosed heart defect.

Flo Hyman. Hank Gathers. Len Bias. At least Bias was doing cocaine, the other two were victims of Marfan Syndrome, which too often gets diagnosed posthumously. :( I wonder if the same thing is at work here. The guy was tall and lean, which unfortunately are hallmarks of the disorder.

Pentegarn
Jan 19th, 2010, 09:54 AM
Maybe all athletes should start getting tested for it when they turn 18 or so (if that is even possible)

Kitsa
Jan 19th, 2010, 07:01 PM
Yeah, a lot of Marfan's patients are sudden aortic dissections. I think it gets mixed up with certain pituitary problems a lot or, as you said, diagnosed posthumously.

The track star I knew was long and lean. I'm trying to remember if he had other hallmarks of Marfan's (the long fingers, the posture checkpoints) and I think he did. But I don't know what the specific diagnosis was and it was never my place to intrude and ask. I just remember it being such a tragedy and a shock to see this poor guy, who had gotten into college on a track scholarship, in a casket before school even started :(

At my middle school years ago while I was in attendance there, a young man who participated in track religiously literally had his heart explode. The cause of death was that the medication that he had been on (roughly for 2 years or so) had caused his heart to over work itself resulting in his "spontaneous" heart explosion. The medication for the record was Adderall. It was pretty shocking and an example of why you should never mix stimulants with strenuous physical activities.

ADHD meds are nearly always controlled substances (aka uppers) which can affect the body much like methamphtamine or cocaine. Kit can correct me if I'm mistaken, but strenuous physical activity combined with medication like this sounds like a recipe for destruction. Why didn't the doctor warn of this combination?

Yeah that song is pretty bad. I think he tried to make a ballad that everyone could easily sing along with much like the "Skol Vikings" official fight song, but it ended up turning into some sort of religious hymn ballad. Which actually makes sense considering Prince is pretty religious.

The reaction here is mixed. Some love it, others hate, and some like me hate it but after a few listens it actually is somewhat catchy (it's laughably bad, though).

Jesus H Christmas. Five turnovers. The Vikes deserved to lose that game. >:

Well, the two top seeds in each conference will battle for the Super Bowl Championship. Maybe that's how it should be. :\

I won $50 and my co-worker has to have a mustache(he must shave all other facial hair daily) for four weeks starting this Monday.

Saints goin to the Bowl!!
