Could be pretty cool, but there are a couple of things that I don't get.
Calling it Goldeneye seems kinda stupid. I get that they want that name recognition, but the original was based on the movie, and this doesn't look like it is.
The controls. I can't see them not making it somehow motion-controlled, but if that's the case, what separates it from other shooters on the wii?

It's not Goldeneye...no pierce brosnan, 8 returning characters, no rare making it. They can try and imitate goldeneye, but without the same people who made the original and timesplitters, it's going to fall flat. I want a new timesplitters...that's all I wanted announced from e3...I know one was already being made before free radical shut down...and I wanted to see the crytek people, who bought timesplitters, to show it off. Oh well, we'll see how this Goldeneye (in name only) does.

Yea, this isn't the same game. I can guarantee it'll be as uninspired as EA's attempt with Goldeneye Rogue Agent.

I read that the concept is that they got the guy who wrote the original Goldeneye script and then reinterpreted the script based on the new bond.
The N64 goldeneye didn't really follow the movie, either. I know because I recently watched the movie after playing tons of the n64 and was horribly disappointed.
As for the controls, if it works like Red Steel, I'm good. We had a lot of 4-player fun with Red Steel and I'm sure this will be no different. They also mentioned that you can play it with the classic controller.
I should mention that aside from this announcement, Sony pretty much won E3 and Microsoft was a horrid embarrassment.

If they focused on new games coming out and not the kinect, microsoft might have done somewhat better...but they chose to give a big middle finger to their core audience and brought a little kid on the stage to fuck with a lion. I actually made a hack called Red Rocket where a kid fucks with a lion among a bunch of other animals...but it was in a much different context.

Goldeneye is my favorite Bond movie. :( And I've got every one of them, too.
The games got a lot of the key scenes. Some of them weren't in the movie, though, like the caves.

Yea, the part where Bond flings himself off a dam in level 1 for no reason and survived confused me until I saw the movie and realized "Oh, they just couldn't find a way to show that he's bungee jumping..."
I think for an early N64 game they did a pretty good job recreating some of the moments, even if they took some liberties with some of the levels. Still, I think the best Bond game is Everything or Nothing, which had some stellar third person gameplay, fantastic setpieces, cool chase scenes, plenty of ways to dispatch enemies, and made Bond more than just a hand holding a gun. The Co-Op was really cool too, and the only let down was the versus mode. From Russia With Love wasn't too bad, though the levels weren't as well designed and some of the new story they added was kinda lame.
I don't like Daniel Craig as Bond. He reminds me of 006. Seems more like a villain to me. If this game let you pick your actor like in Nightfire's multiplayer, I'd be okay with it, but I'm not down with swapping them out.

I also rank Goldeneye among my favorite Bond films. I like Daniel Craig as Bond too, though, so I'm not going to get upset about that part of this game.
I spent so much time playing Goldeneye on the N64 that I can't not be at least a little bit excited about this, but I really don't want to get into it and then be disappointed. Still, though, as long as the facility level makes a comeback (and it looks like it's going to), I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
The only footage from E3 that I've seen was some Kinect (is that what it's called) stuff and the Twisted Metal demo. The kinect thing is pretty lame. "NO MORE FUMBLING AROUND TRYING TO FIND THE REMOTE OR THE RIGHT BUTTON!" Really? How fucking stupid are you that you can't figure out how to navigate the dashboard without giving verbal commands to your xbox?

Same here. I was real iffy about him before I saw Casino Royale but after it I feel like he fits in just fine.

That was some of the best co-op on a console I've ever experienced. Suggs in the house.

I've said this before but N64's controller is fantastic and you're a bunch of wee little girls for not being able to use it
Except for how that control stick would wear out after about two uses, that wasn't very good.

I liked the madcatz mini controllers on the gamecube. You had a 50/50 shot of the wiring cutting out on you about a month after you got it. If it was a good one though it was a bad ass controller.

the n64 controller did suck a dick, but the gamecube might have had the best controller ever.
anyway, you get used to goldeneye's control awful fast if you're not a tard and set it to either 1.2 (halo mode) or the two-controller mode.

I like the gamecube controller after playing enough smash bros. Only thing that was terrible about the GC controller was the z button. It felt like a fake RI button that was hard to use.

I just remembered something that happened one time playing a board game with my roommates. We had to list off four James Bond movies, and you'd get a point for each movie that matches what someone else listed.
None of them listed Goldeneye (or any of the others I said. Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Octopussy). They immediately started pointing and laughing at me for listing Goldeneye, one of them shouting "THAT'S A VIDEO GAME NOT A MOVIE. MY DAD OWNS EVERY BOND MOVIE ON DVD". I had to pull out my laptop and play the fucking thing for those idiots.
I've never been so fucking pissed about pop culture trivia in my entire life.

Live and Die is the best. I heard Guns and Roses do a cover version on the radio yesterday and my stomach almost turned. >:
I didn't know they're using Daniel Craig as the voice/resembler for the goldeneye remake until now.
