I recently started playing d&d 3.5. I have a level 4 thief but we only play for 3 hours every two weeks due to schedules.

So far the most I have done is took a hostage, melted hot wax onto his face and punched him in the forehead with my signet ring. My signet ring is the shape of a bag of tea.

I have a level 4 gunslinger in pathfinder so I just made Blondie from the good, the bad & the ugly with random western or Eastwood one liners.

I only have a shit idea about what to buy for equipment. Any suggestions for magic items?

I usually prioritize +1 weapon, +1 armor, cloak of resistance, +1 ring of protection for the early levels.

I played pathfinder a single goddamn time, and I wanted more, but nobody I know is down. I have to host my own games to play nowadays, and I'll be goddamned if I will ever host anything that isn't call of cthulhu.
