NCAA 2008 season thread

Thought I would dedicate a thread to the 2008 NCAA Football season. Figured we should have one seperate from the over the summer thread.

OSU playing Ohio U this weekend. Prediction: OSU by 30, Ohio U gets a ton of money for the university which it will promptly spend on booze.:lol

WhiteRat Sep 5th, 2008 05:17 PM

Do you think Beanie's absence will cost him the Heisman? We all know how fickle the voters can be about missing games and such.

Minny plays Bowling Green. Prediction: BG by 10.

pac-man Sep 5th, 2008 07:19 PM

I don't think it will necessarily cost him the Heisman. If his numbers are on par or above those of rushers who played a full schedule then it may work to his benefit, actually.

WhiteRat Sep 6th, 2008 01:47 AM

If he misses another game he'll have to put up huge numbers to win the Heisman. When I say huge, I mean overwhelmingly dominating stats every game.

WhiteRat Sep 6th, 2008 12:57 PM

Boo Jackson is making things happen for Ohio. I sniff an upset!

Wait, who am I kidding, it's OSU.

WhiteRat Sep 6th, 2008 02:00 PM

Boeckman mishandles the snap and Ohio recovers in the end zone to go up 14-6. Hilarious!

Pentegarn Sep 7th, 2008 08:38 AM

At least they finally got it together after that botch. It was a good wake up call.

Looks like you underestimated your Gophers.... or overestimated Bowling Green :P

A little from column A and a little from column B.

I can't wait for next week's USC-OSU game. That one should be a real doozy.

As long as the team that showed at the OSU-OU game claiming to be OSU doesn't show up anyway :x

WhiteRat Sep 12th, 2008 07:03 PM

Looks like Texas Tech better break out the straws:

pac-man Sep 12th, 2008 08:27 PM

That should make for a much more interesting game.

Maybe they will play water polo instead

Colonel Flagg Sep 13th, 2008 11:53 PM

So did OSU send in the JV squad for their game with USC? What an embarrassment.

Esuohlim Sep 14th, 2008 12:57 AM

Hahaha eat it Michigan and Ohio State

Pentegarn Sep 14th, 2008 08:40 AM

OSU showed up the same way they did vs. OU. I pretty much said they wouldn't win if they did that. USC obviously took the game seriously and OSU did not.

I was pretty sure ND would beat MU though

WhiteRat Sep 14th, 2008 01:48 PM

Ohio State didn't take the game seriously? Against USC? With national title game implications?

Wow, maybe they do deserve all the trash talk.

Not sure they deserve that high a ranking after winning in the Boring Bowl[tm]

PSU has a good team this year, but they haven't beat anyone yet. How can they be ranked 16th? :confused

Edit: Now I see why. Apparently, Coastal Carolina has been tearing up their opponents of late, blowing out Monmouth and Towson the last two weeks. Now it all makes sense. :rolleyes

WhiteRat Sep 21st, 2008 11:15 PM

Coastal Carolina is the alma mater of the illustrious Tyler Thigpen of KC Chiefs QB fame.

23 East Carolina 3-1 201 15
24 TCU 4-0 117 NR
25 Fresno State 2-1 105 25

Not much movement up top as the heavy hitters did what was expected of them, although Missouri took a littler longer to finally put Buffalo away. It will be interesting to see how BYU, Boise State, and Utah do this year in their quests to bust the BCS open.

Charlie Weiss isn't just stuffing Krispy Kremes down his gaping maw these days. When he isn't wiping powdered sugar off his greasy trap he's busy sneaking laptops into games:

And if the basketball players stop masturbating in the school's library maybe they might be good.
