NEW RECIPE!
BEEF FILLET AND PARMESAN SALAD WITH CRUNCHY SKULLS

Serves 4.

Ingredients
3/4 lb (375 g) beef fillet
1/4 cup (2 fl oz/60 ml) balsamic vinegar salt
6 tablespoons (3 fl oz/90 ml) extra-virgin olive oil
1 head radicchio (red chicory), torn into pieces
2 oz (60 g) Parmesan cheese
5 Human Skulls

Getting Ready

  1. Place the beef fillet in a freezer for about 20 minutes (This makes it slightly firm and easier to slice.)
  2. Boil skulls for about half hour (This removes any excess skin or dirt that was left on them.)
Cooking
  1. In a shallow bowl stir together the vinegar and salt to taste until well mixed.
  2. Add the oil and stir vigorously until blended.
  3. Make a bed of the radicchio on a large serving platter.
  4. Slice the beef fillet on the diagonal into slices so thin as to be almost transparent.
  5. Dip each slice into the oil mixture and then lay the slices on the radicchio.
  6. Using a sharp knife or a vegetable peeler, cut the Parmesan into paper-thin shavings.
  7. Scatter Parmesan shavings over meat.
  8. Place skulls over meat (much tastier than croutons!)
  9. Serve and enjoy!

 

RICE WITH CHICKEN, EGG, AND SHRUNKEN WOMAN
Makes 1-1/2 cups.

Ingredients
1 dried shiitake mushroom
3/4 cup donburi sauce (recipe follows)
1 green onion, cut diagonally into 1/2-inch lengths
3 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup coarsely chopped spinach or thinly sliced napa cabbage
1-1/2 cups hot cooked medium-grain rice
1-2 cups light butter sauce
Japanese seaweed (nori), cut into thin strips
1 SHRUNKEN WOMAN

Getting Ready

  1. Soak mushroom in warm water to cover until softened, about 20 minutes; drain. Discard stem and slice cap.
  2. Dip shrunken woman in a light butter sauce until completely covered. Let stand on paper towel for 2 minutes. Repeat.
Cooking
  1. Heat donburi sauce in a small frying pan or 1-quart pan over medium heat. Add mushroom, green onion. and chicken. Simmer until chicken is no longer pink, 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. With tongs, lower shrunken woman into frying pan. Push underneath chicken.
  3. Pour egg over chicken and shrunken woman; sprinkle spinach over egg. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook until egg is softly set. 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Place rice in a donburi bowl or deep soup bowl. Spoon topping and broth over rice. Garnish with nori. Enjoy!
