I tried to tank Underbog the other night. Gotdamn! With no CC that shit is tough as nails. Our mage kept grabbing aggro and I couldn't see shit because the mobs just took up my entire screen. We didn't even get to the first boss we wiped so many times. That instance almost requires an off tank. That instance needs some serious rework. ALSO, I was a dumbass and let a lock summon me to a bottomless pit. Different day but I felt like an idiot.

Underbog is one of the easiest instances in the expansion, actually. They don't really get rough until Shadow Labyrinth which is just terrible if you got anyone who doesn't know what they're doing. :(

I'm not playing nearly as much as I used to when there were four 40-man raids on the schedule. I've fallen a bit behind the average in my guild, but I haven't lost interest in the game yet. I still enjoy it, and the new content is fresh. Blizzard did a good job with most of the new instances and I haven't come across any "god I hate this place" parts yet. Playing a couple nights a week is enough to entertain me.

A lot of people I know have taken 2-3 month breaks and come back to the game with a much more casual attitude. Running a guild definitely takes a lot of work and being in charge of organizing shit for people makes playing more like a job than fun.

If you're leaving forever, though, can I have your stuff? :)

Which leads me to ask, what are you doing with your guild bank? ;)

Can't say I'm not excited, but I'm a little pissed about this hero class business. Death Knights have always been either warlock souls in warrior bodies, or fallen paladins. I don't remember gnome and night elf death knights, and for fucks sake, I don't want to see it. They've definitely got the best survivability of any healing class, in my opinion. It always makes me laugh when the priest dies during every pull due to it's lack of survivability.

Raiding with a pally seems like it would get boring quick. I mean what do you guys do exactly? Spam Flash of Light with an occasional Holy Light, and fight amongst the other paladins over who gets to cast which blessing? Is that honestly the trick to this class?

Paladins are one of the most valuable classes you can have on a raid. Cheap fast heals, you don't die if you accidentally pull aggro and the blessings come in really handy.

Alliance had it ez-mode and the top raiding guilds are mostly Horde now because we have pallies now IMO.

Everyone at my office plays the game, and so they decided to start an office guild. I was obliged to play, if for no better reason than to know half the stuff my boss would reference in any given day (I'm sure he must have thought me quite the n00b for asking how a poison cloud could "dot" people).

I kinda like it, though I've been pretty much playing it by myself since no one else likes to play it during breaks. apparently. I don't know how much longer I'll play it, though, as playing by yourself makes quests longer, and that can get pretty tiresome.

The last patch actually made levelling and solo play much easier for levels 20 - 60. There are very few elite monsters running around anymore, quests give more reputation and experience rewards, tons of old items got buffed to make them more powerful and they reduced the amount of XP required to level up.

Some of the quests are pretty boring, though, but there's really only so much they can do for low level people. :(

My friends at college got me into WoW. My roommate plays religiously and he and another roommate made new characters, pretty much saying "LOL OUR GUILD NEEDS PRIEST", so I made an undead priest with them.

Now everyone's a bastard and won't help me level, one roommate totally stopped playing at level 28, and the other doesn't even play the new character he started. Then everyone left the guild because there weren't enough 70s (there were at most 5 in it). I only have the game to play it with my friends. Assholes. They keep making new characters and leaving me out, too.

I got my priest to 62 by myself but it's starting to suck real bad to go solo. Especially since I don't know anything about where to go for what (thottbot makes the game pointless if you just look up everything you need to do and then mindlessly do it). Atleast as Discipline it's easy to escape from most of the trouble I end up getting into.

when i stopped playing we were on the second boss of hyjal. i liked how there was no real storyline reason to kill vashj or kael. or even to go after illidan. vashj was just kite striders and pass the cores. kael was harder, but mostly because you spend more time listening to him talk than fighting things.

It was easier for Alliance to level up for 3 years. They lowered the amount of XP required to go from 20-60 and now it's a bit faster for Horde because of The Barrens and the new quests in Dustwallow.

$15 a month isn't bad at all. Add it up over a year, and you've got ~$180. You could have bought 3 good games, ones you can play in a room with real friends, not "guildmates" who will forget you the moment you log off. Or, you can hang out with 13-year-olds in dungeons to get items that will become completely obsolete very quickly.

Plus, they ruined the story, and I'll be damned if I'd pay $1 a month to hang around pink-haired female Gnome Death Knights and blue space goat paladins, doing quests for mushroom men in a blue marsh. And the PvP sucks.

If it's fun for you, do your thing. I played for too long, but I can't justify paying any monthly fee for a character that can be bent and shaped by Kalgan at will, and deleted some day in the future :D

I got half-way to 71 last night in a couple hours. There was a massive server queue, though. :( That should die down in a couple days, though.

I like the new zones. Lots of detail and the quests so far have been pretty entertaining. Yeah, they're a lot more of the same, but I found that there doesn't seem to be as much running around. Kill 10 boars, but the boars are right here and not 15 minutes away.

I went undead/frost but I think I might switch to blood because I only enjoy the game when I'm running up to things and hitting them with something. Which is funny because I never created 1 warrior. People got mad at me because my Warlock used to use his dagger and stabby stabby.

How's the gold acquisition rate?

I've made almost 2k gold off of quests and vendoring the rewards so far. It's chump change, but not bad. The real money right now is in gathering mats and selling stacks of stuff for 70-80g on the AH.

Gold is so ridiculously easy to get due to daily quests that if you broke in the game, you're probably a complete failure in real life, too.
