Helm | It makes sense. When you're confronted with the startling realization that people die, you subconsciously wonder when it's your turn, will you have done all you need to have done and rush to fulfil your biological role. Having sex and wanting to cry is pathetic.

Nerd | Thus far, I have never gotten a cavity. Though I havent visited the dentist in a good year and a half, so part of my doenst want to go becuase he'll probably find a cavity. The times I did go, however, were never as painful or traumitizing as some of you had. Maybe becuase I havent gotten a cavity yet. :/

FS | This one time I was at the dentist's, and while I was lying there Les Waste came in and mocked me through the whole thing. He hit me in the stomach too while the dentist was poking around with his hook, it was terrible. Then he got eaten by a giant seahorse.

The first time I had a cavity, the dentist put 3 doses of novacaine, and he put it on the wrong side. It felt like someone was cutting my tooth in half, and then it was catching on fire. The fucker laughed afterwards and went, "Oh, sorry about that. I numbed the wrong side of your mouth!" Fucker. ![]() |

Okay, this is an orthedontist story and not an actual dentist story. So sue me. When I had braces, I would need them worked on regularly. To do so, they put a cheek speader in my mouth, which basically pulls the cheeks away from your teeth and makes you look like a freak. Some kid was there for his job-shadowing or something and he kept staring at me. Stupid fucker. ![]() |

I took a header on a basketball court in high school and broke three of my teeth in half..the ends off the two front ones and the whole back half plus the tip of one on the left of them. My lip swelled to an inch in diameter and the dentist said he could do any work on me until the swelling went down and the impacted bone in my upper jaw healed (almost broke my upper jaw). So I got to walk around for a week with three ugly broken teeth right in the front of my mouth (not that many people looked past my lip). Then I went through about eight hours of dental work over the next year just to fix those teeth. Temporary bonding of all three while waiting to set an appointment for a permanent bond. The temporary bonding broke off, had to have it redone. Got the teeth permanently bonded, one front tooth chipped and the bonding on the left one fell off. Fixed the front one again, waited another month and had the left one crowned. I thought I was in the clear, but no! Six months later, the crowned tooth developed an abscess, producing a grape-sized bulge in the roof of my mouth. I had to wait four days to get that worked on and another month and a half before it was finished - I had three appointments, one to open the root and drain it (the dentist actually stuck a syringe into my hard palate to try to suck some crap out), one check-up, and one appointment to finish the root canal and close the hole that was left in my tooth for over a month. Through all of this my jawbone never fully healed, so it would start throbbing at random and not stop for a week at a time. (the last time this happened was at the beginning of this summer. ![]() At least I'm not afraid of dentists anymore. |

My dentist can't find anything wrong with my teeth (no cavities, etc) except for the fact that I should've had braces long ago. He still harasses me with phrases like, "Lots of adults have braces" and then he critiques my brushing technique. ![]() |

Supafly345 | Novacain doesn't work on me that well, and I have always been able to feel the drill going all the way in when I got a cavity. But one time he had to go really deep. It felt like someone was taking an ice pick to my nerves. And after three more shots of novacain (only helping a tiny bit better) he decided to put me to sleep just for a normal filling. I cannot describe, or forget that pain. I had never felt it before then, nor would I ever like to feel it again.

Professor Cool | I had a black dentist, when he pulled one of my baby teeth out when i was a kid, it had a huge root, and the pain was unbearable and the anestethic did nothing for me (it usually never does) The whole time he chuckled.

Helm | Oh also whenever I drink something cold it sort of seeps through the fake part of the tooth and it hurts like fuck. At least my teeth are mostly white. It would be cruel if I got yellow teeth without smoking. If my front tooth finally falls off, I think I won't do anything about it. It'll help my smile a lot I think.

Ok. When I was little, me and my brother were on top of a picnic table. He pushed me off, and I landed on the wooden porch. My two front teeth caught the fall. They were knocked out, and I had to have fake ones put in. The doctor was pretty nice though. He doesn't practice anymore. ![]() Every 6 month checkup I get, the dentist comes in after the hygenist does all the work. He presses on my teeth for like 5 seconds and then leaves. But before he does, he always asks, "Do you floss?" Then I of course say "no". Then he says "You have to floss, or you're going to have problems 'down the line'." Then I say ok. This has been going on for the last 6 years- you think he'd get the hint. ![]() |
