is andrew wk indie now? wow. ok, so i havent heard it yet, but you cant blame me for not trying because my last impression of him was that he blew ass. and lightning bolt made last years list for me. my top in order: 01.outkast - speakerboxx/the love below 02.matmos - the civil war 03.radiohead - hail to the thief 04.manitoba - up in flames 05.prefuse 73 - one word extinguisher 06.blur - think tank 07.autechre - draft 7.30 08.broadcast - ha ha sound 09.white stripes - elephant 10.mogwai - happy songs for happy people 11.junior senior - d-d-d-dont stop the rock 12.massive attack - 100th window 13.fc kahuna - machine says yes 14.kraftwerk - tour de france 15.mars volta - deloused in the comatarium didnt look for music nearly as hard as i did last year, so this ist is wihout a lot of noise shit i would have liked a lot. wiese for sure, and bastard noise probably... never liked merzbow, but i was told not to judge before i heard '1930' which i havent. and as you can tell, i'm starting to get BACK into the more convential and being more appreciative about it. it must fuck over some people to see mogwai and junior senior together... but thats what i mean when i tell people i like damn near every type of music. |
