Hey... I didn't write it! "Part of the Libertarians poor performance in previous elections (and quite likely in this one as well) is because most voters are myrmidons. They like to have the burden of responsibility shifted from their shoulders and they like to be identified with a group. "Specifically, they identify with a particular party and regurgitate what the leaders and media of that party spew out. Voters are also too conditioned to voting 'against' one candidate instead of actually voting for the guy who is the best candidate for the job. They also want to vote for a winner, and since most voters only see two parties, they mentally think they should only vote for one or the other-what I call 'unable to think outside the box' syndrome...." |
