What's worse: drinking alone in a strange bar alone or drinking alone in your own home? While it's true that my cat can't provide much stimulating conversation and insight, he is at least capable of inquisitive and provocative looks (enhance by an ironic tilt of the head) that motivate the conversation ... sort of like an "mmm-hmm, and then what?" from a friend over the phone.
