KevinTheOmnivore I like all of their stuff, but the most recent album, "Blacksheep Boy" is really good. It's their most refined and professional album to date.

sadie i listened to the first several mp3's and like it a lot. pared down, sorta alt-country-ish with a heavier guitar, it sounded to me in those songs.

Okkervil River

I've been pushing this band for a couple of years now, and they seem to be getting a bit of a "following."

I saw them perform earlier this week in Virginia, and they were great. Much better than when I saw them three years ago.

If you like The Decemberists (I don't, but still), Bright Eyes (i don't, but still), Iron & Wine, The Band, Uncle Tupelo, etc., you might like these guys. You can get like all of their stuff off eMusic and places like that.

They're from Austin, TX.
