ziggytrix http://cddb.com was a pretty good open database. gracenote bought it (it's now at htpp://gracenote.com/music) so i dunno if the gracenote folks have done good things with it or not.

Big Papa Goat It's just for heavy metal, but http://www.metal-archives.com/index.php is a pretty good resource.

sadie
an imdb for music?

is there a comparable database site for music? i've found some that allow you to catalogue your own cd's by inserting each and every one, but that would so time-consumingly impossible.
