I must confess... This is the first I've heard of it. Haven't really had the time to keep my ear to the ground so much lately... too much time with my nose to the grindstone, I suppose. Sad news. Well, gotta go! I've got friends coming up from Brazil, staying in Atlanta with me for the weekend... gonna go to Stone Mountain, tour the town, hit a strip club and live it up pretty good. I'm sure Harry would have wanted it that way. Keep on truckin! |

PREECHR!!? WHY HAVEN'T YOU BROUGHT THIS UP!? http://politics1.com/ "Anti-tax activist and bestselling author Harry Browne -- the only person to ever twice win the Libertarian Party's Presidential nomination -- died on Wednesday at age 72. Browne was the party's nominee in 1996 and 2000. He secured ballot access in all 50 states in his first run, capturing 485,000 votes and finishing fifth. Browne placed fifth again in 2000 with 386,000 votes. His allies strongly held control of the party during this period, so strongly in fact that it caused a rift by sharply splitting party activists into rival pro-Browne and anti-Browne (or "Reform") factions. " So what say you, Preechr man? This strikes me as a pretty crucial moment for the Libertarian Party, no? Their famed ideological mouthpiece, and two time presidential candidate, is with us no longer. What's the word from the street? WHat are the hot sheets saying??? |
