what they said

that is really cool.
what everyone said is pretty much right, especially the acrylic part with those bright colors. definitely print it up and trace it so it has those perfect lines.

Sacks Your idea will probably work well enough. I suggest acrylic.

Pentegarn I am willing to bet that you can go to a specialty craft store and get that laser'd (is that a word?) onto whatever surface you want. My girlfriend is into punch needle and she will print out pictures she took of places she visited onto cloth surfaces so she can recreate the picture in a punch needle version.

for those of you with experience painting...

i want to recreate one or more of the things i do in mspaint, in real paint.

for instance,

i'm thinking the easiest way to do this as perfectly as i want it is to re-size the image and print it out--on multiple sheets of paper

lay the paper over card-stock (or something similarly thick) and cut out the lines, making a stencil.

fasten the stencil onto a canvas (with painter's tape? or what?) and paint in all the solid lines. let it dry, mix all my paints, and fill in between the lines.

if i get sloppy, which i'm sure i will, i can just wait for the whole thing to dry and re-apply the stencil to go over it.

would this work, or am i not considering something?
