empty gas tank | Oh hush, I'm just referring to the fact that it's a pain in the ass to return something via US Mail than to run to the computer store you bought it from that's 10 minutes away. |

Anonymous | Right. It's much safer to buy parts for six times the cost and no greater likelyhood that it'll work. |

empty gas tank | I doubt its an overheating problem in that I downloaded a program that monitors my CPU temp through Windows. It fluctuates around 50 degrees, although I dunno how accurate that may be. Anyway, I called them up and got a RMA# in order return the CPU and motherboard so they can make replacements if necessary (they friggin better.) We'll see what happens... moral of the story, try not to order parts online! |

Check the temperature in your BIOS. I just installed the processor and board that Zero Signal sold me and I can't use it ebcause it heats up to 145f. The heatsink is 'installed correctly' and all that, but it doesn't matter. He recommended I put intake and outtake fans, and my friend Dustin suggested I replace the power supply. But it definitely sounds like an overheating problem. |

TCWO can kiss my... About a month and a half ago I ordered a plethora of computer parts from both www.tcwo.com and www.tigerdirect.com to put a system together that would render my Pentium III 833 MHz obsolete. I got the parts, put it together, and everything was jim dandy... except when my system started crashing. FRQUENTLY. I had XP as my operating system (the most stable Windows OS, period), and I've never had a problem with it on my Pentium III, so I knew this was a major boo-boo. I had alleviated the crashing (for the most part) by reducing my FSB to 132 MHz (my processor is an Athlon 2200+) instead of the 133 it was capable of. It's weird that doing that would stabalize the system, I know... but the fact of the matter is, whenever I crank it up to 133 then my OS won't go more than two seconds without freezing. I removed all non-essential hardware and isolated the CPU or the motherboard to be the cause of this ridiculousness. Now I'm a busy man, I work 40 hours a week amongst other obligations I have to fulfill, so that explains my delay in contacting TCWO about my problem... first they told me it was an overheating problem, which I knew was BS, my CPU runs at a very safe temperature, and the heatsink is installed correctly. SOOO then they told me to get a return request number via email to talk to a techie about how I can exchange the defective merchandise. It's been a week since I've done that. They've been giving me the runaround and only respond once a DAY, asking the same question over and over and OVER and over. I THINK I'm entitled to an exchange if this started right when I put the system together! If I'm NOT I wish they'd tell me NOW so I can remind myself never to order from them again. Assholes. |
