Mockery ha, thanks for clearing that up.

Protoclown Nihil and Attak are "super insanely awesome mega mundo good". Geez.

Mockery Ok, then please explain your ratings to me. Since this album, according to you, ranks somewhere in the middle or high-end of the middle of all their albums, then why do you describe it as "It's not just good, it is INSANELY good" ? Also, if that's how you would still describe their latest album, then how do you describe their very best albums?? Seems like your rating system is a bit off or, at the very least, over-enthusiastic anytime something new comes out from one of your favorite bands. I'm enthusiastic too and I love KMFDM, but I still can't give them reviews like "INSANELY good!" or what have you when the material just isn't on par with their other works.

After hearing it quite a few more times, I'd have to say no. It falls slightly under those albums for me. But I DO like it better than Adios, Symbols, and Money. I'd rank it somewhere toward the high end of the middle, along with Angst.

Mockery Nihil is definitely my favorite, but they did a damned awesome job on their last album "Attak". That's why this new album is quite disappointing. I was expecting something equally good.

Sergeant_Tibbs Finally got a copy, Stars and Stripes is the best song on it otherwise I wasn't really impressed.
I don't think that they will ever be able to beat "Nihil", best album ever (after NIN - The Fragile).

No, not everything. I found that post of yours to be a total letdown.

Anonymous I liked the last album alot.
I've only listened to this new one once... but I was pretty much just waiting for the thing to end. Didn't like it at all. Maybe one or two songs were ok... they were some of the PIG guy songs, which I always tend to like best anyway

Protoclown Yeah, for about a year they were mfdmk. They've been back for a while now and this is their second album since they changed back to KMFDM.
Sep 25th, 2003 12:44 PM

EXACTLY.

I was really looking forward to this album, and it has a few ok songs and the usual classic Brute artwork, but overall it's nothing new. I think track 3 (or perhaps it was 4) with Pig was my favorite one on the album, and even that one wasn't all too impressive.

And what the FUCK is up with the guitar tone? Their last album was great and they had a killer guitar tone, but WWIII's guitars sound WAAAAAY too processed. They sound like total ass.

It's not a bad album, but it definitely could have used 1) better writing and 2) better guitars.

:let-down

wreckreation which track is that?
Sep 24th, 2003 06:05 PM
Royal Tenenbaum My fav track is "Bite The Bullet."

Protoclown This album fucking RULES. My favorite by far is "Stars and Stripes". I also really like "WWIII", "From Here on Out", "Last Things" and "Intro".
Sep 23rd, 2003 02:48 PM
wreckreation wtf proto? tell me your fav tracks off the cd.
mine are blackball and intro, and while they are good, they are nothing to old tracks like DIY and Drug Against War and Meglomaniac and Anarchy etc. WWIII even sounds like metallica or some shit since they used a different method of production.

re

KMFDM is the only band who can get away with using their name repeatedly in a song.

I've had this album for a couple weeks, it's good. I find it hard to be let down by KMFDM. Last Things is my fave track so far.

BTW, since many of us do work at radio stations does anyone think it would be appropriate to have a thread to post our show time so people can listen over streaming audio? I would like to hear some people's radio shows.

Protoclown This album knocked my fucking socks off. That's right.

It's not just good, it is INSANELY good. Easily Attak's equal if not better. I need more listens.
