soundtest you might have a proxy set up.... to check in IE click:

Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab -> LAN Settings button

Make sure there is no checkmark in "Use a proxy server..."

Detecting Proxy Setting..

I'm not good with computers, I broke my old one. Well for some reason Internet Explorer freezes while it says detecting proxy settings, it takes a long ass time to finally give in. The connection is DSL, anyone know what's wrong and what i might need to do.
