Cap'n Crunch I just bought THPS 4 for only 15 bucks brand new cause of THUG coming out. :hat

Fist Full of Boomstick was on sale too for only 10 too. That game fucking rocks.

Schimid I just beat THUG on Sick mode last night.

I named my team "ManDown"

It had Burnquist, Margera, Koston, Rowley, and Thomas.

My board has a blank stare checkered background, with "Z A K" written across it and a nose that looks like an alien when upside-down.

My stats are...

Air - 8
Lip - 10
Run - 6 (I fucking hate Cavemen)
Flip - 7
Rail - 9
Spin - 7
Ollie - 9
Speed - 7
Switch - 7
Manual - 9

FUCK YOU, ERIC SPARROW

James WGTT = (Self-proclaimed) World's Greatest Tag Team, made up of Charlie Haas and SHelton Banjamin. They're awesome.

Smackdown is really fun though. The storylines are great so far, and the matches play flaylessly. Just don't take a cruiserweight against someone like Brock Lesnar or Kane, because you WILL lose. They added a weight class feature, so you can no longer lift someone twice as big as you, and your attacks won't be as damaging, causing you to develop strategy for a change.

THUG, I haven't played much. I really want to, but I also feel like I should wait until I get a digital camera so I can map my face onto the skater. I don't know.

One thing I like about it, is now there are difficulty levels, so if you felt the last game was too easy (which you shouldn't, you fucking whackjobs), you can pump up the challenge. I also like how you earn stats now. Instead of winning or finding points to attribute to the different areas, you earn points for a specific area by completing certain skating tasks.

For example, to increase your Air stat, you need to clear a certain amount of feet when doing a transfer. There seems to be 3 challenges per category, per area. But since I only skated around Jersey, I can't say for sure.

Cap'n Crunch I rented THUG yesterday. It's okay, it's just like the rest of the games except you can walk now, but it's kind of hard to control. :/ I'm glad I only rented it.

Schimid WGTT?

I don't watch wrestling anymore, if this is a new stable. I just play the games because they're fucking hilarious.

I always make a character and use him, unless I'm playing with a friend. Then I'm Shane McMahon or someone equally hilarious

James OK, well, I guess it's a matter of who you play as, and if the game decides if your opponent should be invincible or not.

I'm Ultimo Dragon, and I can not make a dent in Brock Lesnar, ever. Exception being that if I belt him with a chair 10-15 times, his head goes into the yellow. And I'm not joking.

I also fought the WGTT backstage, an went nuts on them with a hammer. Couldn't hurt them for shit, though I've owned them in real matches. The game just decides that sometimes, you're just supposed to lose.

James The matches in HCTP are the most intense, longest, and most difficult yet. You'll really get into the matches. And the Season Mode is full of great storylines that continue on for months.

The only downsides are lack of midcard/undercard wrestlers, who are usually much more fun to play as. And if you like attention to detail, a lot of the entrances will make you sad. CAW mode seems lacking once again, when it comes to trying to find JUST the right thing to make the perfect recreation of a wrestler who didn't make the cut. And the unlockables are a joke. A handful of movesets, legends, a couple arenas and attires, alternate underwear for Bra and Panties matches, and Divas loading screens. They should have had better things to work for.

But overall, the game is awesome. You'll actually be losing matches for a change, and really getting into what's going on.

Schimid Yeah, so the thing is almost exactly the same.

So what? It's still just damn fun to play.

AND WHERE'S THE DISCUSSION ON WWE SMACKDOWN?
Oct 31st, 2003 09:06 PM
Cap'n Crunch Yeah, it does have some new features, like walking and stuff, but THPS 4 had a whole shitload of new features. Don't get me wrong by saying that THUG isn't a good game, which it probably is, but the series is worn out. Basically it is the same thing still, pretty much like the sims.
Oct 31st, 2003 09:04 PM
whoreable I sort of agree, except underground at least looks like it has some new features. I would at least give this a chance, where as I did not give 3 or 4 much of a chance.

Cap'n Crunch I am not playing THUG. It looks like the same fucking thing. I was getting tired with Tony Hawk 3, but I was fucking bored of Tony Hawk 4. The series is tired to me.

Yes, but I admitted that the games I wasn't going to play were probably very fun. I just have no desire to go out and play them. But I'm not going to bitch about Mario Sunshine being exactly like Mario 64, except you have water and shit.

HickMan I still think the first one is the best. Best levels, and it didn't have the punk attitude.

Only Tony Hawk I really played quite a bit was #2. Pretty fun but I'm not a big fan. I don't like skateboarding as it is so the new ones were never something I needed to play.
Oct 31st, 2003 05:00 PM
whoreable at least it does have something new compared to the last 3.
Oct 31st, 2003 04:18 PM
James Feh, what's the point in arguing with you, or anyone else? I like the game. It's fun. You remember fun? There's plenty of things different with this game than the past installments, and it's fun.

You're making negative points just to make them. I could take any game sequel and say "It's the same thing, but with (insert ignorant understatement here) and shit."

It's fun. If you don't like it, oh well.

Cap'n Crunch THUG is the exact same fucking thing as create-a-skater, but there is a story and new things to do like walking and shit. Who cares.
Oct 31st, 2003 02:00 PM
James I bought both yesterday. You WON'T be disappointed.
