Everybody had their own opinion about certain people, if you think Andy Warhol is a genious, that doesn't mean that I am narrow minded. I just think there are better artist that deserve the credit that he recieved. That's all. If you are an artist and believe that you could be one of the 5% that can actually make a name for them selves then do it. Just because alot of people are posers doesn't mean you have to be represented as that. I love art, I'm not particularly an artist, I went to Art School and can see your point just because I went to an Art School and seen the kids that were really good and I've seen the kids that went to that school just because they fit in instead of getting made fun of. It's actually pretty pathetic. |

Both of which many people do not get but assume is art. I don't assume, I know it is art. These examples are rare. 95% of art isn't real art. Truely good artist can make a healthey living on it. If you are a " starving artist" it means you suck. If you have the ability you can make it happen. I am sick an tired of uninspired, garbage heaps of art. That is why I am so disinteristed in persueing it. |

There are a few artists that can be considered "real" I guess you can say. Although they have been dead for hundreds of years they are really great artists. Michealangelo (sp?) DaVinci was basically a genius. The basic people that everyone has heard of one point in time. Then you have those that have made millions off of splatter paint-Jackson Pollack. Or silkscreen "pop art" Andy Warhol-OVERRATED. I think anybody can pick up a paint brush and draw a few shapes and call it abstract. But to be a success you have to appear as an oppressed alcoholic that had a bad childhood. I have no idea where the hell I was going with this. I think it had something to do with what Supafly wrote. |

I am sorry, I have been holding back because everyone is free to creative expression and everything, but your work is not art. It looks as if you stood 5 feet away from the canvas (or whatever other inappropriate objects you so chose to use) and bashed it with one of those long foam pooltoys with paint at the end, then you crammed it into a frame and called it art. Now here is one thing I have learned about art having ventured into that field and realising how phony it is: Just because you think others won't understand it, doesn't mean it is art. Now go take a class, or find a new hobby or something. I will again say my phrase on what the art world really is about: Art was created so that people with no real practical or useful talents could have a place in society. |
