| Anonymous | There's a soldier-less chip with a switch that you can flick to deactivate the chip for when you go online. They can't make a chip that 'thwarts' Live, since Live forces you to download updates. |

| soundtest | Actually man I think there's a certain chip you can get that you don't have to solder to the board - so you can take it off if you want to go online. A pain in the ass for sure, but at least the option is still there. This was like 6 months ago though - there might be better options now. Check that link whoreable gave - best xbox mod related site online. |

go to www.xbox-scene.com i believe you can atually get it without a mod chip...of course it seems pretty damn troublesome to set up. there are so many cool things you can do with a modded x-box, like emulators and media players and such. I want one

| soundtest | If you mod your Xbox you don't need the remote. If you get an Xbox and don't mod it you're wasting your money. But as a DVD player it works fine I guess - I never noticed any problems. |

I don't have an "actual" DVD player, I have one in my computer. I am considering getting one, and since plug space is limited, then hopefully I can kill two birds with one stone. |
