Illmatic is still one of my favorite albums. He's fucking amazing on that And Nas's latest album is very, very good. The Blueprint was a great album, but the title was ripped off of an even better Boogie Down Productions album. And "Girls, Girls, Girls" just pissed me off. Although nobody cares about rap here, so I'm probably just talking to myself. Especially since Carson Daly is obviously a character.

I'd have to say Nas... even though he may occassionally sell out, at least he's been somewhere which would allow himself to do so. Jay-Z has never rapped about any sort of unique opinion, he's always been about as the earlier post states, "Money, cash, hoes." In truth, most hip-hop is so trite these days, if I see one more video with girls in bikinis, over-sized jerseys, and platinum chains I'm going to puke. There is good hip-hop out there, you just have to find it somewhere other than the radio and Mtv. Drop the "ice"... diamonds are a Girl's best friend, guys. |

Sorry, dude. Gay-Z and the folks at Cock-a-Fella can kiss my pasty white ass! Anyone who writes a song called "Money, Cash, Hoes" and repeats the phrase ad infinitum throughout the whole song is an automatic "suck" in my book. I'm not the biggest fan of Nas, but at least the guy occasionally expresses an opinion (Besides which brand name he prefers), and he's got great flow and good beats to boot. Jay-Z or Nas? Who wins? I say Jay-Z. Nas is frontin'. When he first came out on the scene, he was real and had great beats. Now, of course, to top Jay-Z, he went all pop, talkin' shit about money and Jay-Z. Jay-Z and Rock-a-fella however, have stayed consistent, putting out great hip hop, and they keep it REAL. Eat shit, Nas. |
