I'm trying to gracefully sneak away from a party invitation, because if I went I'd be the oldest guy there and I'd feel like a dirty old giant or possibly Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (first seasons, before he got badass and unemployed).

So now I've got to stay friendly with her while not showing any sign of interest (because of the me not being interested part) while I ignore her completely in front of her parents who are around constantly, so we end up sending looks below the radar and probably misinterpreting stuff completely.
