sadie having and choosing not to use is not not having.

thanks! he's my sweets! right now, he's sitting in his little car seat/carrier thingy on a chair next to me. he's kicking his legs around and stretching his arms out; he's partial to the "HEIL" and the "I AM ZE CHAMPION!" he's been enjoying looking around for as long as it took to restart, check my email and get here. now, the pacifier's being spat out and the whine has begun. his eyes are large and glaring at me: "PICK ME UP NOW!" and by now, he's calmed down, sucking slowly on the paci and staring at the lamp behind me. it's definitely not boring.

i think the age difference is good, too, although girls are probably more likely to want to help out than boys. i heard this story yesterday about a three-year-old kid who tried to get her little baby sister out of the crib 'cause she was crying, and the baby fell and is now severely brain-damaged. i'd much rather the timidity.

mburbank Wow. So you were a parent two years before I was.

I think a large age difference is helpful. My kids are five years apart and there's none of the ultra annoying sibling stuff I see so much of among their peers.

Terra Sadie that is a "star quality" baby. As I'm sure your other child is. You make only the best.

Dole Cute kid!!
Sep 28th, 2004 04:49 AM
FS Sorry kiddo, you don't have the KILLER INSTINCT. But I can see it in his eyes.

sadie my not even catching that part of your post symbolizes my preoccupation. my son, ryan, is eleven. he loves the baby; he feeds him and holds him and sings to him and tries to make him laugh, but he's been known to say, "mom, you have to admit that he is annoying sometimes." and i say, "yah, well, so are you."

and if fatsatan is a starmaker, why am i not one yet?
Sep 27th, 2004 04:33 PM
mburbank I'm so out of the loop. Or she told me and I already forgot because even though 42 isn't really that old I have the brain of a man twice my age with head trauma.

SO. The requisite question would then be, how old are the siblings, what's their reaction?
Sep 27th, 2004 04:24 PM
kellychaos Better get the quality time in before he gets an agent.
Sep 27th, 2004 03:05 PM
Anonymous Max, sadie was already a parent before this :o
Sep 27th, 2004 03:02 PM
FS Maybe he'll be a singer too! And I'll make him a STAR.
Sep 27th, 2004 01:05 PM
sadie thanks, max. he's been sleeping much better this past week, sometimes for stretches of six and seven hours--at night, even! right this second, i'm typing one-handed as he screams 'cause he's grumpy and needs to nap but wakes himself as soon as he gets near. arggghhh. i love him. but my ear drums are about to burst. this boy's got a set of lungs on him, yesireeee. poor little thing.
Sep 27th, 2004 10:17 AM
mburbank Hey, Congratulations Sadie. Another I-mockery parent joins the fold. Is he sleeping well?

darkvare looks cute just as the baby my mom takes care of
Sep 26th, 2004 04:16 AM
sadie don't eat my ba-a-a-by. :P

you know, i've been to this thread three times already, and this is the first time i've actually gotten to the hit-reply-and-type stage. the baby's all like i-want-your-attention-constantly with his bright midnight blue eyes and lungs that claim i'm-gonna-be-a-singer-dude.

he's been starting to talk the last week or so. i'll say "ah" and "oh" and "mama," and he'll move his mouth and turn his tongue every which way trying to repeat it. he's gotten "ah" and "oh" down, though not consistently, but the "mama"'s as of now a no-go. just so it's down before the "dada." :O

glowbelly oh holy baby boy! if he was cake, i would eat him whole.

congrats, sadie!! it seems that the bedrest has paid off.

DeadKennedys I BET HE'LL BE PRESIDENT LOL
Sep 21st, 2004 10:14 PM
sadie smart, he is. he's gonna be the wisest man ever. when he looks in your eyes, it's straight to your soul, people. midnight blue eyes wide and bright, he's completely in awe of all that is. and such peace i've never felt in anyone ever.

so, you see, in spite of the whole extra arm and all, he's perfecto. :P

p.s. i'm so embarrassed i forgot to shave that day. :O

the_dudefather cute kid, but if it starts using it cutness to try and sell me fabric softener, paracetimol or toilet paper o will lose all respect for it (like those shameless babies you see parading their wrinkly asses on tv)
Sep 20th, 2004 04:00 AM
DamnthatDavid Is it just me, or does he have the coolest eye colors? One blue, one brown? Or that just the trick of the light?
Sep 20th, 2004 03:26 AM
subterfuge Sure he's cute, but he's got a hand growing out of his back. Kids are gonna be so cruel to him. So cruel.
Sep 19th, 2004 11:57 PM
ScruU2wice everyones pretty much covered all the bases for cuteness, but I bet he's pretty fricken smart too.
Sep 19th, 2004 11:43 PM
Supafly345 That is one infectious smile, I know I can't show emotions and everything, but dammit that is adorable.
But Chojins right, even with his highly noticable comb-over, I would believe anything that baby said.

Daphne He is so damn cute! Sadie, I hope that's not your hairy tummy
