Spectre X They changed Kroenen's character a lot for the movie. In the comics he could actually talk, and he was a scientist, not a fighter.

Also, Sports, shut the fuck up.

First he was in most of the movie remember. second yeh the should'n't have killed him that they shall die for. And third never mention him and Voldo in the same sentence again. They may have been made from the same template but Sabastion was higher in the cool and lower in the suck where Voldo was the oppisite!

Wake the Devil.

Or Chained Coffin and Other Stories, doesn't matter which order you get them. The short in the Chained Coffin book is actually a kind of prequel to Rasputin talking to the elf guy in Wake the Devil.

jin That's true, but, with regards to the movie he became the only redeeming feature- in my opinion. ;o

My Hellboy knowledge is quite lacking, it has been a while since ive read the comics, but i still believe that the robot gorilla and the head in the jar would make great villains- and i was wishing they'd include scenes where hellboy would meet the old woman who lives in the chick leg house. ;<

Spectre X The only book he's really significant in is Wake the Devil, and even there there's not much that he does.

jin I wish Dr. Kroenen didn't die. ;<

FS It felt kinda tame overall, more then it could've been. I don't blame them/Del Toro for shooting for a PG-13 rating, but for instance both X-Men movies were PG-13 and they seemed more violent than this. Aside from that, the plot became too cheesy near the end, most of the dialogue wasn't clever enough, and the CGI monsters were - in my opinion - neither interesting nor good looking.

But I have high hopes for Hellboy 2. I'm thinking that with the characters down on paper and their introductions out of way, they can focus entirely on fixing the problems of 1.

Zomboid I liked it because it felt like something new for me and nazis always interest me. Men in black still blows ass though.

Daphne I liked it, but only for Ron Perlman. Every single thing he did in that was fantastic.
Otherwise it just felt like a really bad wannabe Men In Black kinda movie.

(the scene where he's on the roof talking to the kid, is the best)

FartinMowler It just premiered there? Where are you? I liked it. I hope they continue.

Hellboy

It just premiered here, and I went to see it. Not bad, not great either. A lot of action movie clichés. I don't want to say Stephen Sommers, but... room for improvement. Not on Ron Perlman of course. Best casting decision ever.

I'm thinking I would've judged this more highly if I'd actually read a Hellboy comic, similar to how I would've been more critical of Spider-Man 1 if I'd never read those comics.

Still, a good time was had.
