Ant10708 We like to complicate things by having different systems of casting a vote from state to state and even town to town. I hope Kerry wins just so I don't have to hear everyone say Bush stole the election for another four years.

Zhukov We do things a little differently in Australia. We tick a box with a pencil and then count the votes.

Hey, whatever works for you crazy americans.

FS Wait wait, what if you had to slowly pet wax heads representing the candidates and a computer would determine which one you vote for by the amount of drool dripping from your overbite?

DamnthatDavid I like the idea of dropping a token into a slot, or pulling a lever. Why do they have to make things so damn confusing...
Touching Screens? What the fuck is that all about. :/

Perndog I think the touch screen hardware is several degrees more complicated than four big, sensitive buttons. But touch screens really should have been perfected now, having been around in some form for well over a decade.

FS DDR PADS FOR ALL, I SAY!

Anonymous It's silly that they can't make a functioning touchscreen, but they can make a dance panel and a complex pattern you have to press within 25ms of each command, and people can still get it perfectly. :<

Programming-wise, this would be the easiest thing in the world to code. I don't get why there are so many fucking errors.

FS Well, more food for the lawyers.

Maybe they should've made a voting DDR pad where you have to stomp the face of the candidate you want to vote for 50,000 times.

ziggytrix Well, if they work anything like those automatic check-out machines at the grocer, then it's no wonder they glitch. Touch screens are - well - touchy.

AChimp Advance voting.

sadie did i miss the part where they said why these people were already participating in the election?
Oct 22nd, 2004 02:56 PM
AChimp Well, it's hard to imagine that a programmer would be so audacious as to make it so that when you press John Kerry's face, the checkmark appears for Bush. That would be an dead giveaway that something is definitely wrong.

More than likely, these people are technologically illiterate or have fat fingers.
