Alive | Ad-aware also does something with "certain components could not be removed, do you want to re-boot your computer so ad-aware can re-scan and remove them?" something to that effect ive had a couple of times. .. its funny, i just tryed (man look at all these made up words "ive" "tryed" lol) i just had trouble up-dating my new reference file earlier, it said it could not read it too up-date it at first, but a while later it took it. could be these new virus's. |

FartinMowler | I forgot to say thanks... I went through and deleted some old programs deep in my system and the problem is gone. |

Reboot your computer and start hitting F8 like mad. If you catch it in time, instead of showing the Windows startup screen, you'll get a menu where you can choose to boot in safe mode. AdAware doesn't remove everything, though. Make sure that you have the latest updates and get Spybot and use that, too. There are some programs that leave hidden files on your machine that will recognize that the original copy has been removed and then install it again. My friend Baalzamon also got nailed with some spyware that actually went and deleted parts of AdAware so it wouldn't work anymore. |
