that deerhoof album sounds like something i would be into, but i wasnt in the mood for it at the time or i actually didnt like it that much :/ the locust is always good though. |

re: i don't think i've ever heard anyone describe them as grind, but i'm sure we're talking about the same band... the locust as in gsl records. |

Helm | Locust as in The Locust grind band? If not, it seems I'm gonna have to change my band's name anyway. Any chance they won't sue us if we don't, because they're jolly fellows? |

new stuff that i like. deerhoof - apple o' (not as good as reveille, but still great. still the only band that i could imagine being considered "twee no-wave".) cul de sac - death of the sun (really, really pretty and textured.) locust - plague soundscapes (i've never been a huge locust fan, but this really does impress me... way more varied and interesting than any of their previous stuff.) subarachnoid space - also rising (this album is so fucking psych that i'm scared of random drug-tests at my workplace for the next few months!) |
