Has anyone ever needlessly flinched while asleep and fell off the bead or hit their head or anything? I did that last night and landed on my barbells ![]() |

I never have trouble falling asleep, I just have trouble actually going to sleep. I only give myself 3-5 hours or so of sleep a day during the week then usually once the weekend hits I crash like a log. I'm one of those that can drink soda or coffee before bed and still fall asleep like a charm. I always have a full day of work (computer stuff, but mind labor seems to make someone just as tired as physical labor) to make me sleepy and by the time I get home, I'm pretty beat. some sleep helpers: turkey, alcohol, milk, decaf tea, bud, Jay Leno. |

Matt Harty | I usually drink some milk. Having the room between 65-70 degrees helps. Try to get all of that stressful stuff out early during the day and try not to think about anything at all before sleeping. Maybe masterbate and drain your energy or something. Oh and dont leave tvs or radios on or anything, dark helps.

EisigerBiskuit | I actually tried that once, but my body freaked out and I hit my head on the windowsill.

Schimid | You lay down and in your head just tell individual parts of your body to "go to sleep". Feet, legs, chest, whatever, and it's relaxed. I know it's all psychosomatic, but it's still pretty cool. This is what I do, anyway. Helps me relax.

My cat likes to find anything that makes to most uncomforting noise as possible, and bat it around until he runs back under my dresser, then continues to scratch the floor. I'm having these troubles, too. Music does help. I keep a window open and play some sort of soft music. I think taking deep breaths and then breathing normally does something to my brain that helps it shut off faster. |

From my experience, its easy to fall asleep if you have a feline of any sort. They either play wih you, wich takes your mind ff sleeping, or having one curl up to you promotes a happy sleepy feeling. But in my case If i move I lose some blood. ![]() |

Ninjavenom | Yeah, just eat a sandwich and leave on some jams (or whatever you kids call them these days) and leave a fan running, even if you think it will make you cold. It won't if you have sufficient blanketry. Fans provide noise and temperature regulation, y'all.

Big Papa Goat | Eat a sandwhich or some toast, bread is supposed to make you drowsy I think.

If you cant sleep, dont just stay in bed. Get up and read a book for 20 mins or watch a bit of TV. Although reading before going to bed is not generally a good idea because i wakes your brain up somewhat. Also try and get into a regular sleeping pattern. |

DeadKennedys | For some reason, how well I sleep seems to go in a cycle. For a while I'll fall asleep almost the instant I hit the bed, and then it'll start to take me a little longer and then I'll start having nights that I can't sleep either, and then it just goes back. Maybe it's the same for you.

rockets redglare | Try falling asleep with the tv on or while listening to music. Sometimes that's enough background noise to drown out your brain.
