IMO a gig of ram is the standard these days. You should see a great deal of extra performance moving from 512 to 1024, especially in recorse intensive applications. Also 1024 generally gives you the advantage of dual channel mode (provided your mobo supports it etc) to increase your memory bandwidth. One of the main areas you can expect to see performance gains is loading times. And yes i have dont a bit of overclocking ![]() which puts my SuperPI 1M score around 45 seconds. |

Hi Metal. It seems that you are the right person to ask this question. I was always under the impression that a gig of ram does not really give a bang for your buck. The amount spend on upgrading to a gig of ram does not dramatically increase performance as such. Am I wrong in this assumption? Does an upgrade to a gig of ram actually do increase your gaming and other performance dramatically? By the way, excellent latency you get on the memory. Do you overclock at all? |
